The file pattern
The creditor learns of a proposal, bankruptcy, restructuring communication, creditor notice, cash-flow disruption, or other information that may change the account context. The internal record may be incomplete about what was received, when it was received, and how it relates to the obligation.
What the review documents
A responsible review preserves the agreement, account chronology, invoices, statements, notices, communications, security information, judgment status, creditor contacts, and any formal materials available to the creditor. It distinguishes confirmed information from business rumours and flags the need for qualified review.
The professional-role boundary
The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy administers the federal insolvency framework and regulates the insolvency profession. The CRE is not a licensed insolvency trustee, law firm, or financial adviser and cannot determine stay effects, priorities, proof-of-claim strategy, or restructuring rights.
A responsible next decision
The next decision may be to preserve records, pause ordinary activity, seek qualified legal or insolvency input, or follow a documented client instruction. The proper response depends on the facts and formal process, not an automated recovery script.
